September 2023

It is Fall 2023 already. Can you believe it? I look forward to making soups, drinking hot cider and wearing cozy sweaters! I stop hibernating due to heat and start moving more outside!

Your Board has been very busy lately taking care of the business of running a church so you can enjoy our community and fellowship.

Our church community is growing at a steady pace and we are so excited to be able to welcome thirteen new members at the August 27th Sunday Service and received four new connection cards from the September 10th Service. Welcome new friends! If you see someone you don’t recognize at a service, introduce yourself, say “hello” and make new members feel welcome.

We are looking forward to the Holiday Arts Fair, which will be on October 7th from 10-3. This is a great place to start your holiday shopping! Food trucks will be at the Fair so you can keep up your stamina and shop, shop, shop!

On September 9th, Rev. Karen Patrick led an introductory meeting for organizing Spirit Groups at Unity Church of Greenville and she spoke at the September 17th Sunday Service. Rev Patrick is an ordained Unity minister and Buddhist meditation teacher, and she has taught energy healing methods since 1981. After 35 years as a private practice therapist, working with individuals and families, she retired. Her passion is to provide training and resources for spiritual communities through talks, workshops, and training events. Rev Patrick states that “The greatest gift I can give is teaching methods that heal the illusion of separation between self, other, and the Divine.” If you missed her on the 17th, you can hear Rev Patrick’s message here.

We are getting the stairs by the lake repaired in early October at a cost of $160 for materials. If you have experience in pouring concrete and would like to help get the stairs fixed, please call the church office at (864) 292-6499.
If you like gardening and would like to offer you expertise to our grounds maintenance, call the church office at (864) 292-6499.
The Women’s Group has volunteered to clean out the Multipurpose room by the end of September. Please give them a hearty thank you for all they do for our church. · Keep your eye on our church calendar, which can be found here. There are so many events on our calendar that I am sure you will find several that would be of interest to you.
